Yeah, the theme is called Lux Aeterna and composed by Clint Mansell. It was originally composed for Requiem for a Dream--btw, the most depressing / best movie around. Since then, it has been de rigueur for dramatic movie trailers including: Da Vinci code, Lord of the Rings, and Sunshine. It also makes cameos in the NBA playoffs and Lost--anywhere you want to inject some drama. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux_Aeterna_%28Requiem_for_a_Dream%29
Ah yes, I remember back before the internet trying to find the name of March of the Swivelheads, when all I had was a bad VCR recording from when it was on tv.
Well done, Benji. The funny thing is how many really dramatic moments there actually are in that movie (Ferris Bueller, not Benji).
ReplyDeleteOK, that was totally awesome.
ReplyDeleteReally goes to show you how much the music impacts the mood.
Definitely a different feel when you have March of the Swivelheads or Oh Yeah playing in the background.
