Roommie

This is my roommate Bob at a Berkeley vs Stanford trivia bowl, which after two rounds of incredibly obscure questions was tied at 1-1. We decided to settle the match by a feat of strength. As I remember it, I challenged their team to a competition of the most pushups in 30 seconds. Being weak and generally lazy, I volunteered my OCD, "I must work out every day" roommate to perform said feat.

Pushups must hit the fist of each counter. Opponents are set to begin.

This is the look of your weak opponent when he realizes he is losing at the rate of 3-1.

This is the weak Berkeley guy giving up.

Pumping out 66 pushups in 30 seconds, Roommie seizes the gag trophy for Stanford. He credits his short arms.

  2. Ahh, quiz bowl. Reminds me of my college days on the coed Scripps-Mudd team. (Guess who pulled most of the weight in the math-science questions?) I don't recall any pushup competitions, though.

I'm digging the pictures/stories from real life. More, please.

Also: I pretty much only blog about desserts now, so Cake or Death is the place to keep up with me. I'm debating deleting the other altogether.

And finally: I am totes going to send you guys sweets next time I make something mailable. Lately it's been cakes and truffles--they don't ship well. When cookies make an appearance, they're yours.

    P.S. World's longest blog comment, Y/N?
