Stuttering

As a child, I stammered quite a bit when I spoke. Jacob, bless his little heart, would always remind me of that. I still stutter if I get particularly excited or engaged in a topic. Anyway, just a way of introducing some Oscar bait that looks good.

  1. Funnily enough I stutter more as I get older. Ida has a stutter that comes and goes. It is really adorable...but I hope it doesn't cause her trouble. We just listen and don't try to finish her sentences. So far it hasn't been a big deal, unless she gets really, really excited or angry, and then it's really hard for her to get the words out. Sad and cute at the same time.

Movie looks good. I love a good beating-the-odds flick especially if royalty is involved, or Hitler.

  2. Stuttering is actually an interesting phenomenon - if ignored, and if you allow the person to finish without you finishing for them, it is often very manageable. If more serious, it really needs professional help. Although I had a student with a very serious problem and he got tired of the therapy and just said he didn't care - and he apparently doesn't!!

Not making fun of it is the key though - shame on Jacob!!
