Turns out I didn't need to stock up on all of those things. For about the past year, most of my day-to-day interaction with real live people takes place at stores. I was feeling lonely (roommate is traveling for three weeks) so I went to Whole Foods to buy dinner. I gave $4 to a homeless man in the parking lot and $1 to a guy at the cashier who didn't have enough. Please, I tell them, please, I will pay you to talk to me.
