So more than a month ago, a group of a dozen or so friends ran a 182-mile 24-hour relay through the Arizona desert called the Ragnar Del Sol Relay. I know, sounds fun, but it actually was, sort of. Kent (who had the thankless task of organizing this) talks about it here and I am sure there are more things floating around the webs and facebook.
The race was fun, staying up forever, running through the desert at 3AM--all pretty cool.
Dave pulled a bunch of pictures together into a quick movie on youtube, which I will use as a crutch of a post.
Also thanks to Kent who snapped this photo on the trip back (everyone was exhausted after not sleeping for 36 hours) and promptly posted it to facebook. As gross as that photo is, it does a pretty good job displaying how I felt. The running (only about 18 miles in 3 legs spaced 6 hours apart) wasn't that hard. Staying in the car for ~40 hours straight, however, was extremely tiring. Also, I challenge anyone to find a less flattering photo of themselves. I think the limp neck, partly open eyeballs, and lolling tongue are key.
At least you have your seatbelt on. That's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You are a brave person to post that.
