Maybe like the gulls of '48, modern ocean birds will clean up our mess (pics) of a giant floating garbage heap, the North Pacific Gyre, by eating all the trash out of the ocean and then dying on land. It looks like a win-win for humans--we can throw our stuff away into the ocean and then animals will take it out for us on a suicide mission.
