Sunday, I (got) volunteered to bring mashed potatoes to a dinner party. I didn't have enough potatoes, milk, or the like. I was quite proud of what I ended up with by begging, borrowing, and stealing: some potatoes, some yams, a few sprigs of rosemary snipped off Jenni's plant, some butter, and--the secret ingredient--coconut milk. The potatoes were a little orange and quite sweet. Delicious.
Also, I guess it speaks to my Asian-ness that I have almost an inexhaustible supply of coconut milk but absolutely none of the bovine stuff.
